Martin presented to my middle school ornithology classes (5th–8th grade) and did an outstanding job! His positive energy, extensive knowledge of birds, and ability to connect with both younger and older students made the experience memorable and meaningful. - Marnie Steele, Curiosity Coach & Teacher Librarian at Meadowlark PK-8, Erie, CO
“Martin's presentation, “Geo sapiens,” at Boulder Public Library was an interdisciplinary showcase of the complexity and serendipity of global interconnectedness. . . . His charismatic delivery and gift for story-telling engaged the audience and left them with a fresh perspective on the world around them.” Matt Fyfe, Living Materials Laboratory Manager, Univ. of Colorado Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering
“Where to begin? Simply put, Martin was fantastic. His command of the subject matter, professionalism and enthusiasm for the subject matter were remarkable. The ideas that he presented and invited us to all think about as part of our “Gaia & Indigenous Perspectives on Nature” Symposia series continue to be a topic of conversation in our community and have helped to expand and make important environmental, scientific and philosophical connections for many” – Marisa Diaz-Waian, Executive Director, Merlin CCC, Helena MT
“Martin Ogle has been an incredible partner to Flatirons Elementary, helping us deepen our connection to both the natural world and the unique history of our school. He has also worked closely with our staff to creatively leverage both our outdoor and indoor spaces for meaningful learning experiences. Through his assemblies and career speaker sessions, Martin inspired our students to think about clean energy and environmental stewardship as real and exciting career pathways. I highly recommend Martin’s work to any school community looking to spark authentic learning and a deeper relationship with the world around them.” - Jessica Seevers, Principal, Flatirons E.S., Boulder, CO
Regarding a program on the American Beaver at Front Range Optics, Boulder, CO - "Most people think of beavers as furry tree-chomping animals. What they don't know about is its amazing ingenuity and critical importance to the ecosystem. Martin's "Believin' in Beavers" presentation bridges this gap in a way that's fun, insightful and filled with his vast amounts of personal knowledge. We'd highly recommend it for anyone interested in nature!" - Dave & Lori Kwasnick, Co-owners, Front Range Birding & Optics
Martin Ogle has presented programs and field trips entitled "Energy and Life" for Centaurus High School's Engineering Department for the past 10+ years. This year, recognizing the cross-cutting nature of energy, teachers in other subject areas at Centaurus had Martin speak to their students as well. This included an AP World History Class I teach and art and also language arts classes. In my class, Martin connected energy to many themes and events in history, to a nation's power, and more. His presentation was very engaging and students in all four classes actively contributed to the discussion with questions and opinions. I will be looking to have Martin come back to present next year! - Ayrica Mason, Social Studies Teacher, Centaurus H.S., Lafayette, CO
“Martin Ogle organized a public program entitled “Green Building as Part of a Land Ethic” that made connections between the implementation of green building practices and how we think about our relationship to land and life. We need more programs like this to create an informed citizenry that not only knows about green building methods and technologies but how our human relationship to Earth guides and informs us in green building decisions.” John Salisbury, Architect, Westminster, CO
